Our Venues & Experiences
Queenstown
Southern Discoveries operates two charter vessels on Queenstown’s Lake Wakatipu, Spirit of Queenstown and Queenstown Discovery. Catering for up to 150 and 30 guests respectively, the floating venues have flexibility to explore anywhere on the lake with bespoke cruise routes, vessel layout, catering and audio-visual solutions available.
Our cruise vessels provide connections to events at Mt Nicholas High Country Farm, located on the western shores of Lake Wakatipu. Offering panoramic views of the mountains surrounding Glenorchy and Queenstown, and a true taste of southern hospitality, the woolshed at Mt Nicholas can be transformed into a themed venue with theatre or dining capacity for up to 150 guests.
As one of New Zealand’s leading tourism operators, Southern Discoveries offers a range of group activities and experiences – perfect for conferences and incentives. In Queenstown, these include Mt Nicholas Farm Experience, Jet boating, Jet boat airport transfers, and fishing charters.
Milford Sound
Southern Discoveries is Milford Sound’s original cruise operator. A 45 minute flight or 5 hour drive from Queenstown, Milford Sound is the best known and most accessible fiord in New Zealand. We offer coach, small plane or helicopter transport from Queenstown to Milford Sound, where we operate a range of cruises to suit the requirements of any group.
