What is the maximum on Spirit of Queenstown?

The maximum capacity on Spirit of Queenstown is 150 passengers.
The capacity for dining on Spirit of Queenstown is 80 passengers.


Where on Lake Whakatipu can we cruise?

Southern Discoveries has the flexibility to cruise anywhere on Lake Whakatipu, including the Frankton Arm, Bob’s Cove, Mt Nicholas High Country Farm or Glenorchy.  View our suggested cruise routes here.


How long can I charter Spirit of Queenstown for?

The minimum length of the cruise on Spirit of Queenstown is 1.5 hours and the average board Spirit of Queenstown is usually 3 hours.


What food and beverage options are available on Sprit of Queenstown?

Is smoking permitted on board Southern Discoveries vessels?

Smoking or vaping is not permitted on Southern Discoveries charters, all our vessels are smoke free.


Where does Spirit of Queenstown depart from?

Spirit of Queenstown departs from St Omer Wharf, 110 Beach Street, Queenstown.


Are we allowed to jump into the lake and swim?

By law, the skipper of the vessel is legally responsible for the safety of guests onboard. As a matter of safety, guests are not permitted to jump off our vessels and swim.


Is it possible to charter boats in Milford Sound as well?
